TV Show Review

Earlier today I started watching a Netflix series called DEAD TO ME. I know, I’m a little behind the times. Dead to Me stars Christina Applegate as a widow named Jen. Jen’s husband is killed in a freak hit-and-run accident. So in order to “cope”, she joins a support group. While in the group, Jen meets a woman named Judy, played by Linda Cardellini. They quickly become friends. Judy is a kind of a wild child, hippie-esque, free-spirit kind of individual. She tells Jen she “recently lost” her fiancé, Steve. Later, Jen discovers that the “lost” Steve is actually alive and he has filed a restraint order against her. Judy also realizes through a series of flashbacks that she is the one who killed Jen’s husband. At the point I am at, Season One Episode 9 (there are 10 episodes and only one season) Judy has not told Jen. If you are lost in all this crazy “WTF-ness”…welcome to my world. The whole show is so twisted, fucked up, and convoluted. It’s addicting as Hell though. Season 2 is premiering this Friday. I’ll review that as soon as I am caught up. Actually, truth be told, I had heard of the show before now, but it sounded boring, dull, uninteresting, and, quite frankly…dumb. I admit Dead to Me feels like a drawn-out chick flick at times, but I actually am enjoying it. If you have seen the show, let me know in the comments but please…NO SPOILERS! Thanks for reading!

  1. I am glad that you found a good show to watch. My favorite show called Drain the ocean on National Geographic starts a new season tonight!
