Today I want to talk about my first experience at Round One Entertainment in Towson, Maryland. While I would say this place has its pros, in my opinion, it’s one big money pit. Think Dave and Buster’s or something along those lines. Don’t get me wrong, I had fun. But I am not entirely sure it is worth all the money I spent there. I mean, the arcade games are a waste of money. Skeeball was fun, but before I knew it, I’d spent roughly $7 in points on Skeeball. Karaoke was fun and the cheapest thing we did. We had 3 people in my group and it came to $3 for all of us. That was a good deal. My friend who decided to do karaoke with me chose Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. I chose to do A Boy Named Sue by Johnny Cash. As I said, this place is in Towson. It actually takes up roughly half the first floor of Towson Town Center. So yeah…this place is big! That is one thing that caught me off-guard. This place has a full arcade, billiards tables, darts, a full bar, a bowling alley, and two karaoke rooms. So I can kind of see where they would charge a lot for games and stuff. It can’t be cheap keeping this place in business. So after we did karaoke, we ate lunch at the food court. I opted for Chick-Fil-A. After Chick-Fil-A we decided to go back to Round One and shoot pool. It’d been awhile since I had shot pool, and it showed. My buddy won one and I won one. But we didn’t win conventionally. We both knocked the 8 ball in on accident, so we each won one by default. So would I recommend Round One? I mean, I’d say try it out if you are in the area but I wouldn’t say it’s worth going out of your way for. I’d say this place is fun, but not like, “Oh my God! This place is amazing!”. At least that’s what I thought. I had a good time, but nothing about this place, minus its sheer size, “wowed” me. I cannot talk about their bowling lanes, simply because I did not go over to that area. But I’d say if you are going to Towson Mall, it’s worth at least going in and looking around. It is free to go in. You pay per activity. But unless you are really into karaoke or billiards and are willing to dish out $20-$30 for games, billiards, and karaoke, I’d say pick and choose what you want to do. I feel there are better ways to spend money and time. Well, let me explain. Billiards are fun; karaoke is fun. But there are plenty of karaoke bars with billiards tables in Baltimore. You probably have to pay per game, but it’d probably be cheaper than $7. Plus, I am sure the food at Round One was probably overpriced. Again that is an assumption. I cannot be 100% sure because I did not eat there. But from what I could see, they serve beer, pizza, and fries. Standard arcade fare. Actually, it’s kind of funny they serve that type of food since Brass Tap, which is right next to Round One, has similar stuff for cheaper. I think it’s pretty amusing that there are two bars in Towson Mall…and they’re right next to each other. So in closing, I am not sure if I’d recommend or endorse going here. Like I said, it’s fun, but overpriced. So that’s my take on my experience at Round One in Towson. Have you been there? If so what do you think of it? Thanks for reading!
