GET THE LED OUT CONCERT

This past Saturday January 4, 2020 I saw a Led Zeppelin tribute band at Rams Head Live in Baltimore. The band is called Get the Led Out. These dudes are nothing short of INCREDIBLE! So that begs the question, “What makes them so good?” I like them because they don’t pretend to “be” Led Zeppelin. They’re just six guys who play Led Zeppelin music as fans. And it’s never the same show twice. The songs they play vary show-to-show. For this particular show, they opened with Rock and Roll. While I just said the show varies and always changes, some songs are ALWAYS on the set list. Two obvious examples are Kashmir and, naturally, Stairway to Heaven. Kashmir is probably my favorite Zeppelin song and GTLO does this difficult song flawlessly! One  “song” I am glad they included is Moby Dick. I have not heard them play this song for awhile so I was happy to hear it again.  Moby Dick has no sung words or lyrics, but the drum solo is FUCKING EPIC! One song they played as part of the encore was Over the Hills and Far Away. I had never heard them do this song before so I was pleasantly surprised to hear it. They also did an acoustic and unplugged set that consisted of three songs: Going to California, Bron-Yr-Aur Stomp, and Hey Hey What Can I Do. Whole Lotta Love was the final song of the night. That song was a great closer! Dazed and Confused was amazing as well. Now while I said Get the Led Out does not look or act like Led Zeppelin, the sound is uncanny! How uncanny you ask? Well if you were to close your eyes and listen to Led Zeppelin and Get the Led Out back to back, you probably wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. So do I recommend seeing Get the Led Out if they play in your area? If you like Led Zeppelin then the answer to that is a resounding HELL YES! Trust me you will NOT be disappointed! So those are my thoughts on Get the Led Out. Do you like Led Zeppelin? Have you seen Get the Led Out before? Feel free to comment and thanks for reading!
