I am REALLY looking forward to tomorrow! I am going to the WTMD Rock Block in Towson. This is the third year in a row WTMD, a local radio station located in Towson, Maryland, has had this event. WTMD is my favorite radio station. They have a lot of events throughout the year, including one of my favorite summertime events, First Thursday. The best thing about the events WTMD puts on? The majority of them are FREE!
So every year in October, since 2016, WTMD has closed off the entire block in front of the station for what they call the WTMD “Rock Block”. They have local vendors, local beer, and, of course…live music. And it’s good music, too! Probably my favorite Rock Block was last year in 2018 when Haerts, a German indie band, closed the night. It was cold and I was freezing my ass off, but it was SO worth it!
This year, it’s two local bands, Post Pink from right here in Charm City, and Ex Hex from Washington, DC closing the night. But the real reason I am going tomorrow is because one of my favorite indie bands is playing. The band is called Jealous of the Birds and they are from Ireland. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this band! I have seen them one time at the WTMD studio for a Live Lunch awhile back. The show only lasted an hour and I had no idea what to expect. Five minutes into the show, though, I was hooked!
The really real reason I am going, if I am being completely honest, is simply because the events WTMD put on are all just plain fun! I can’t wait for tomorrow! Have you even been to a black party? What do you think of them? Thanks for reading!
