“WAR” ON DRUGS

I think the so-called “war on drugs” is overhyped and blown way out of proportion. Look, I am not promoting drug use by any means, but I do think we can put our efforts into more important things. People are being raped, murdered, watching the Kardashians, et cetera every day and the cops are concerned if some dope has pot or something. Maybe I am divulging too much info about myself here, but I take medications and CBD oil for my ADD, ADHD, anxiety and an antidepressant.

I know this is a controversial topic to discuss. Believe me, I do. I am not saying “Go out and do all the drugs you want”. That is the LAST thing I am saying…I swear to you. But as a person on the Autism Spectrum, I have been researching the effects of marijuana on people with Autism. Thus far, and from talking to people who have tried it, it seems legit.

The effects seem mostly positive. Now this is just weed and nothing else. I do not know the effects of other drugs—especially hard drugs—on people because I have no experience.

But going back to my original point, I think there are far worse things than drugs plaguing our country today. So do you think the drug war is overhyped and overblown? Or do you think it is a legitimate concern? Feel free to comment and thanks for reading!

  1. I agree with you on it being overhyped. It makes narcotic pain medication which I am on for my chronic pain such a big stigma and fight for what will give me the best quality of life possible.
