WHY I DON’T WANT TO BE “NORMAL”

I hate mundane and normality. Reason being? In my opinion, there is no “normal”. Everyone is unique and special in their own way. That goes for people on and off the Autism Spectrum. We are all different. Black, white, gay, straight, Democratic, Republican, American…it does not matter. We all have our own ideals and opinions.
Me personally? I am damn proud of my uniqueness and differences. Yes, they have caused me hardships, but that’s life. We all have our differences. I know I am different than anyone else I know. To me, that is a good thing. How boring would it be if we all acted exactly alike? “Hi…I’m Tom…I’m just like you…” BORING AS HELL!
I think the differences we all have is a common thread in humanity. The fact that we can all agree on some things and disagree on others is amazing to me. To me, normal is bad. I do not like the word “normal”. I think it should not exist in our vocabulary.
Humanity in general is weird. I know “weird” is a strong word, but I think it’s true. Stay weird, fellow humans! Say no to normal. Be who you are and what you were born to be!
