I’d like to discuss something that happened at Disneyland in Anaheim, California on July 6, 2019. I am referring to a family fight that happened in the ToonTown section of the park. And when I say “fight”, I don’t mean verbal. I am talking a full-on physical assault fight. The family, whose last name I could not find, claims that the “fight never happened before the video went viral”. The video shows a man repeatedly punching a woman who spat on him during an argument with someone else. Here’s the messed up thing. This fight goes on for almost five minutes before security steps in. Why did it take security so long to get there? Well I can say most, if not all, parks have some sort of undercover security working there. So why didn’t they intervene? Well…they did. I think safety is a big one. The guests’ safety is a huge priority in theme parks, especially in Disney. If you watch the video, you will see some “guests” holding the other guests back. All the people holding guests back in the video wore matching clothing. I can almost guarantee they are undercover cops. They are wearing black shirts and hats. So where were the regular uniformed police? Again…safety! A few minutes into the video, a swarm of security comes in and takes everyone down and arrests them.

What really gets under my skin about this incident is just how out of control the people in the video are. According to the Anaheim police department, the family were “uncooperative”. The family apparently denied the fight ever happened, despite video evidence to the contrary. Guys…you messed up. Admit to it. The prosecutors are looking to file criminal charges. I love the fact the people were immediately arrested and escorted out of the park. I can only assume the family got a ban.

This is a disrespect to Disney, I feel, with this video being published. Why? Well I think if a lot of, for lack of a better term, “ignorant” people are going to avoid Disneyland after seeing this. Parks are generally safe, but every once in a while, people turn into complete jackasses. I have never had an issue with anything like this at any parks I have ever been to. And I have been to a lot of parks! But I want to hear from you. Have you seen the fight at Disneyland video? What do you think of it? Thanks for reading!
