AMERICA’S GOT TALENT CONTESTANT

I want to talk for today’s post about a recent contestant on America’s Got Talent. The contestant’s name? Kodi Lee. Kodi is blind and Autistic. So how good could he possibly be? Um, how about AMAZING?! Kodi somehow knows where all the keys on a piano are and he can sing better than some “real” singers out there!

He played “A Song For You” by Donny Hathaway. I am actually not familiar with that song, but damn! Seeing the judges and audience’s reactions was powerful. Every…single…person gave Kodi a standing ovation. Even Simon was tearing up, and it take A LOT to do that. Simon Cowell even went as far to say Kodi was “really extraordinary” and that he “will remember this for the rest of his life”.

The new judge, Gabrielle Union, who is actually a mom herself, said that “motherhood is the hardest job I have ever head.” She went on to say “It’s also the most rewarding job I have ever had. You want to give your kids the moon, stars, and rainbows. I’m giving you something special.” That something special? A Golden Buzzer.

Yes, Kodi Lee, a 22 year old blind, semi-verbal, Autistic person blew everyone away and is going to Hollywood, California. This kid is all-around amazing! I have never seen anyone or anything like this! I was tearing up watching this. I expected Simon to tear this kid apart, but when he said “I’ll remember this for the rest of my life” and meant it in a positive light, that’s when I lost it.

Kodi shocked me, and I am sure everyone else in the room with what he did. I highly suggest you watch the clip, even if you are not a fan of America’s Got Talent. I don’t even watch the show. My mom told me about Kodi Lee and I was kind of skeptical at first. But then OH MY GOD! The clip just blew my mind! In closing, this gives me just sheer joy knowing that someone like Kodi exists. I am so happy people are being very receptive toward him and not ignorant.

So let me know if you have seen the clip and what you think of it. Thanks for reading!
