I have been to a crap ton of concerts in my 28 years of life here on Earth, but I wanna talk today about what I consider to be THE best concerts I have ever been to…and probably will ever see. Both are tied for best show I have ever seen…Foo Fighters and Paul McCartney. Now obviously McCartney and Foo Fighters are two VERY different kinds of rock music, but both put on absolutely AMAZING kickass shows! To Foo Fighters fans, Dave Grohl is a living God…and after seeing Dave perform for 3 hours and 10 minutes straight, I absolutely agree! And that’s without a break! But at the same time, Paul McCartney is, well…Paul McCartney. He is a living legend! I will say, I can’t decide who is a better front man, Dave Grohl or Paul McCartney. Grohl is a showman all the way throughout the show and knows damn well how to work a crowd. McCartney is without a doubt one of, if not the, world’s most iconic name in music history and is the best PERFORMER I have ever seen. So I guess it’s a preference decision between showman or performer. Both shows are very audience participation driven. McCartney will talk to the audience and make each person in the room feel that he is talking to them personally. He also invites a few people onstage to interact with and signs autographs for those people. Dave Grohl also invites people onstage, but it is usually just one person. He invites people onstage to jam with him and the Foo’s, or, in my show, invited someone onstage to chug a beer with him. And you can tell both are extremely appreciative of their fans. After all, where would they be without fans and support? So I can’t say for sure which I liked better. They are both on par with each other and are both amazing acts to see live. Honestly, if I had to pick between Foo Fighters and McCartney as the last show I could ever see with a gun aimed at my head, I’d say “Kill me. I can’t decide.” I know every person has their own preference in music. I can’t tell you who or what to listen to nor am I going to. But knowing the kind of music I enjoy, these are my top concerts of all time. And honestly, I feel bad calling them mere concerts. Both are experiences that once you see them, you will never forget it. So that’s it from me. I wanna hear from you and what you consider the best show or shows you have ever seen. Thanks!
