I have said it before, and I will say it again. I am not religious by any means, but this prompt poses an interesting point. I was raised Catholic (confirmed and everything) and was taught that we were all made in God’s image. But if God created us in His (or Her) image, if that is the case, why is it that humans do unspeakable things? Some people murder and rape others. If we are made in God’s image, does that mean God murders and rapes, too? I know I am going to Hell for that…

However, God also gave mankind freewill. We are in charge of and shape our own fate/destiny/path/future/whatever you wanna call it. Some people are genuinely nice, and others are total assholes. Did God “make” them that way so as to balance out the ratio of “good” people and “bad” people? OR is it all environment and how those individuals were raised and due to circumstance? Because let’s face it…some parts of the world; United States; even right here in Baltimore, are better than others. Some areas are total shit (no offense) while others are considerably nicer. So did God do that? Or is it all humanity’s fault?

I would LOVE to hear from people who think one way or the other. Let me know what you think. Thanks!

  1. We are also taught that in the Jewish faith. I truly believe that is true. We just don’t understand why people can be violent and shoot and hurt others. I truly believe in G-D. I have a very strong belief in G-D. My faith is one of the things that keep me going on the toughest of days.
