I read an article (surprise, surprise…) the other day that kind of hits home with me. One, it has to do with an 11 year old girl with Autism. And two, most articles I read and write about on here take place in other states or even other countries. This particular story took place in my hometown of Baltimore. I read about it on a local radio station’s website. 98Rock (97.9 FM) posted a story about a man named Wayne Parker who pled guilty to sexual abuse of his girlfriend’s Autistic granddaughter. My guess is that this asshole thought, “Oh, she’s Autistic. She won’t say anything.” Joke’s on you, buddy. The girl, whose name the article did not reveal, told her grandmother about the incident. Before you ask, “Well where was the grandmother?”…she was at work. She had left the 11 year old girl with Wayne Parker, the grandmother’s boyfriend. What kinda concerns me, though, is that the grandmother did not tell the girl’s parents or call the police. The girl told her mom and the police after she got home. Mr. Parker faces 35 years in prison. I hope this guy gets the same treatment he gave this kid in jail. An eye for an eye. Golden Rule, my friends.
